Reuben Sancken

The Discipleship Project Student, Cohort 2

Reuben Sancken was born and raised near Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. In 2011, he graduated from Goshen College with a B.A. in Bible, Religion, and Philosophy and a minor in vocal music. Most recently, he lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he spent two years with Lutheran Volunteer Corps. He lived in intentional community with fellow volunteers working at non-profits across the Twin Cities, including the Brethren Mennonite Council for LGBT Interests. His primary role was to support and advocate for LGBT youth, young adults, and their allies in the Mennonite and Church of the Brethren traditions. He is currently a Master of Divinity student with an intended goal of becoming a congregational minister.
