Habits of the heart: The courage to practice a faith worthy of the human spirit

Aug 12, 2013 - Aug 15, 2013 | Pastoral Excellence Network

The George Williams Conference Center

Williams Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Parker PalmerThis four-day retreat will explore congregational life and leadership from three perspectives: from within the heart of the leader, the heart of the congregation, and the heart of the greater community.  Parker Palmer will introduce the "habits of the heart" as described in his recent book, Healing the Heart of Democracy, and explore their relevance to the health of congregations and people of faith. Trained Courage & Renewal® facilitators will use the principles and practices of the Circle of Trust® approach to spiritual formation, guiding individual reflection, small group sharing, and large group dialogue.  Clergy and lay people attending the gathering will have free time to explore practices that deepen their own spiritual growth and to create connections with each other which sustain communities of mutual support.

Led by Parker J. Palmer and others with special guest, musician Carrie Newcomer
