Following the African-American preaching tradition, we believe that the nature and purpose of preaching is to help people experience the assurance of grace (the good news) that is the gospel of Jesus the Christ. Despite this definition, there are many varieties and differences of homiletic method, delivery styles, theological viewpoints, ethnic, gender, and denominational perspectives in the African-American tradition. The following lectures by master thinkers and practitioners in African-American homiletics highlight, analyze, discuss, and inform this diversity by discussion of relevant trends and insightful methodological analysis.

We also have a list of Sermon Helps available for more assistance.
